- 200g powdered sugar
- 110g almond flour
- 100g egg whites
- 50g granulated sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- food coloring (various colors)
- 200g butter
- 250g confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, sift together powdered sugar and almond flour.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until frothy, then gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites gently.
- Divide the mixture into portions and add food coloring as desired.
- Pipe onto baking sheets and let sit for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until macaron shells are firm.
- Let cool and prepare the filling by mixing butter, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Sandwich the macaron shells with the filling.

- Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for best results.
- Macarons can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
