4 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts
1/2 cup Nutella
12 Ferrero Rocher chocolates
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the melted butter and crushed hazelnuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
Once cool, slice the cake in half horizontally.
Spread a layer of Nutella on the bottom half and place 6 Ferrero Rocher chocolates on top.
Place the top half of the cake on and frost with whipped cream mixed with powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
Decorate the top with remaining Ferrero Rocher chocolates.
Notes
Ensure the cake is completely cooled before frosting.
Use a serrated knife for slicing the cake layers.
This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
