- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned.
- Stir in taco seasoning and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheese.
- Divide the beef mixture among the tortillas, roll them up tightly, and secure with toothpicks.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chimichangas until golden brown on all sides, about 4-5 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve with salsa or guacamole.
